Whitsome Arketypes quiz team almost but not quite triumphant

The cunningly named Whitsome Arketypes  team took part last Sunday in the first Berwickshire inter-village hall quiz.  The event, organised by BAVS (Berwickshire Association for Voluntary Service) took place in the beautiful new village hall at Abbey St Bathans,  Teams from across Berwickshire competed for the honour of their respective village halls, with the Ark being represented by Jane and John Smithson, Rob Loch and Lynda Lothian.

The Arketypes put up a good fight, going into the half-time break ahead by a couple of points, but they sadly failed to live up to their early promise and ended up coming a creditable  second by one point behind A Heart for Duns (due in no small part to the team’s lack of knowledge regarding pub names.)

Some dignity was preserved as we came first in the table quiz as Rob was keen to demonstrate.  25 out of 30!

Sadly, the table quiz was only for fun so we came home empty-handed but having had a very enjoyable evening.  Thanks to BAVS for organising everything and to Abbey St Bathans for hosting the event.  Looking forward to the return match!
