Please note that the Pingo on-demand bus service is coming to an end on 19 May 2024.
Scottish Borders Council have announced a replacement demand-responsive transport taxi bus service in the Berwickshire area, to be provided by Teviot Taxi.
According to SBC’s notice, which you can find at this link, the service will operate seven days per week, over “an amended operating area” with revised hours of operation and will revert to a telephone booking system. The operating area has been defined using data gathered from the Pingo pilot, by identifying the rural areas that had high demand for travel, outwith the fixed route bus network.
The new area is not specified on SBC’s notice, but we have requested more details on the service and will provide them when they are available.
